The Yemeni Coalition for Monitoring Human Rights Violations (YCMHRV Rasd Coalition) organized in cooperation with the Center for Strategic Studies to Support Women and Children, members of the Justice Pact Coalition for Yemen, yesterday, Saturday, June 29, 2024, in Taiz, a seminar on legal and psychological awareness for children victims of the six grave violations within the activities of the SAFE project to enhance awareness and ensure children’s rights during conflict in Yemen.

The seminar, which targeted 20 children victims of war and their families, aimed to raise the legal, psychological, and social awareness of children victims of violations, as well as to analyze the needs of children in the legal, psychological, and social aspects. The seminar addressed two issues; the legal aspect, by the lawyer and human rights activist, Yasser Al-Maliki, who touched on national mechanisms for protecting children from violations, protecting children from the risks of conflicts, mechanisms for resolving complaints, and the role of the prosecution in investigating and preserving evidence and means used to commit violations against children.

The second issue addressed by Dr. Angela Al-Maamari who talked about raising awareness in the psychological and social aspect and touched on the psychological effects of war on children, the role of the family in the return of children victims of war, psychological and social rehabilitation programmes, the societal role and integrated services.

It is worth noting that this seminar will be the beginning of a three-month activity dedicated to legal, psychological and social consultations for children victims of the six grave children violations.
