Yemeni Coalition for Monitoring Human Rights Violations (Rasd Coalition), concluded today in Today, February 25, 2023, in Taiz the training workshop on the International Mechanisms to Monitor and Document Violations of Children's Rights, organized during February 21-25 2023 within the Monitoring and Documentation of Grave Human Rights Violations against Children During an Armed Conflict (SAFE) project, which is implemented by Rasd Coalition during December 15, 2022, to March 31, 2024. The project aims to support and enhance unified efforts to protect Yemeni children from serious human rights violations by promoting local and international recognition and pressure to ensure the accountability of the perpetrators.

The Executive Director of Rasd Coalition said that the workshop, in which 14 male and female trainees participated from the members of Rasd team and activists from other governorates, aimed at providing the participants with skills and knowledge about international mechanisms to monitor and document the violations of children’s rights, skills of interviewing victims and witnesses and record evidence and on using monitoring and documentation findings to advocate for children rights, achieve justice and other issues of the training workshops.

The workshop will enhance the capabilities of the field team in monitoring and documenting the six grave violations of the child's rights and implementing them in the fieldwork.

The training workshop reflects the launching of the SAFE project, through which the investigators will monitor and document all the grave violations of children’s rights committed by all parties to the conflict in Yemen. The project will also include an awareness and advocacy campaign to introduce violations and will conclude by developing a detailed report on the grave violations of children in Yemen.
